Skills Workshops
Focused, technique-driven sessions designed to help you break through plateaus and build specific skills. Smaller groups mean more personal attention and faster progress.
The Climb Lab
Ready to make your climbs stronger, smoother, and more confident? The Climb Lab is a focused workshop dedicated entirely to building and refining your climbing technique. We'll break down the mechanics of climbing, troubleshoot common struggles, and work on creating more efficient movement so you can climb with less effort and more control.
We may work on
- Basic climb technique
- Side climbs
- Improving foot and knee placement
- Building climbing endurance
- Smoother transitions between climbs
- Climbing higher with less energy
- Different climb variations and entries
Students should have completed Intro To Verto and taken at least 6 Verto Baseline classes.
The Invert Lab
Your invert doesn't have to feel like a mystery. The Invert Lab is a dedicated training session for students working toward their first invert or wanting to improve the strength, control, and technique of an invert they already have.
We may work on
- Invert mechanics and positioning
- Knee tucks and compression strength
- Hip lift and pelvic positioning
- Core and pulling strength
- Controlled invert drills
- Common invert mistakes
- Safer and more efficient entries
- Individualized progressions based on your current level
Students must have completed Verto Baseline level and taken at least 6 Verto Evolve classes.
Flow Without Fear
Flow Without Fear is a prompt-based freestyle class designed to help you stop overthinking your movement and start connecting with yourself, the music, and your own natural rhythm. There is no "right" way to respond to a prompt — the goal is to discover how you naturally want to move.
We may work on
- Different tempos, moods, and styles of music
- Leading movement from different parts of the body
- Playing with levels, shapes, and pathways
- Moving bigger, smaller, slower, or more intentionally
- Connecting familiar pole skills without planning ahead
- Pausing, breathing, and allowing moments of stillness
- Exploring emotion and personality through movement
- Finding transitions that feel natural in your own body
All levels welcome. Some classes heels will be optional.
Level Up Lab
Level Up Lab is a focused skills-check workshop designed for students who are working toward completing their current Verto level and are ready to get skills signed off. Come prepared to work through the skills on your level checklist and get instructor feedback on anything that still needs improvement.
We may work on
- Practice skills from your current level checklist
- Demonstrate skills you feel ready to have signed off
- Receive individual technique corrections
- Ask questions about specific level requirements
- Get drills and progressions for skills that aren't quite ready yet
- Identify remaining skills needed to complete your level
- Work toward officially leveling up at Studio Verto
Open to current Studio Verto students working through a Verto level checklist.
Grounded Flow
Not every great pole moment happens in the air. Grounded Flow is all about building confidence and creativity on and around the floor — exploring movement that connects floorwork, low-flow pole skills, transitions, poses, and expressive movement without requiring advanced tricks or inversions.
We may work on
- Floorwork foundations
- Shoulder rolls and floor transitions
- Low pole spins and movements
- Getting gracefully down to the floor — and back up again
- Legwork and body pathways
- Movement around the base of the pole
- Connecting floorwork into pole combinations
- Creating smoother, more intentional movement
All levels welcome. Knee pads recommended.
Troubleshoot Skill Lab
Have a pole skill that just will not click? Bring it to Troubleshoot Skill Lab. This student-led workshop is dedicated to working through the skills that have been frustrating, confusing, inconsistent, or sitting on your "I swear I should have this by now" list.
We may work on
- Grip and hand placement
- Body positioning
- Entry and exit technique
- Strength or mobility limitations
- Alternative progressions
- Drills specific to your sticking point
- Different cues to help the movement finally make sense
Bring 1–3 skills you want to work on. Skill prerequisites will depend on the skills you choose.
